Sky Casper’s Pink Eggs & Glam holds the title as one of the longest-running drag brunch in Connecticut, bringing a signature New York-style live-singing experience to audiences since 2015. Sky first built his brand before launching his official business, Sky Casper Entertainment, shortly after starting the brunch. Originally debuting at Nixs in Hartford, Pink Eggs & Glam has traveled across Connecticut. While the brunch briefly experimented with a non-live-singing format, Sky quickly returned to the signature style that sets Pink Eggs & Glam apart. With its ever-expanding reach and commitment to high-energy, live performances, the event continues to be a staple in the drag entertainment scene.

Sky Casper’s Pink Eggs & Glam is gearing up to celebrate its 10th anniversary this month, marking a decade of live-singing, comedy-filled drag brunches that have captivated audiences across Connecticut, upstate New York, and Providence. It all began on April 15, 2015, when Sky unknowingly booked his first live-singing drag queen, Hedda Lettuce, for a performance at Nixs in Hartford. That moment set the stage for what would become a signature experience – blending top-tier vocals, humor, and high-energy performances into a one-of-a-kind brunch event. Over the years, Pink Eggs & Glam has grown into a staple of the drag scene, proving that Sky’s vision for a unique and dynamic drag brunch was exactly what audiences craved.

His journey into the drag entertainment industry began with a desire to create fresh, engaging events for the broader queer community. Immersed in the nightlife scene, Sky quickly noticed a lack of variety in existing events and set out to introduce something different. His first major project was a weekly Saturday night event featuring unique themes, from glowing white parties to superhero nights. Sky also introduced interactive elements like Minute to Win It-style games, where participants completed quirky challenges – such as twerking ping pong balls out of a tissue box – to win drink tickets. This innovative approach laid the foundation for Sky Casper Entertainment.

Sky Casper revolutionized the local drag scene with Pink Eggs & Glam, introducing a high-energy, live-singing drag brunch unlike anything the area had seen before. From its inception, the event was an instant success, selling out within a week of being announced each month. In its early days, tickets were just five dollars, and Sky wasn’t focused on making a profit, he simply wanted to create something fresh for the community. Initially featuring well-known drag icons like Jackie Beat, Hedda Lettuce, Sherry Vine, and Shequida, Sky soon realized that his audiences weren’t just coming for big names – they trusted his curation of talent. As a result, he shifted his focus to booking newer yet equally skilled performers from New York City.

The inspiration for Pink Eggs & Glam can be traced back to an unexpected visit to one of New York City’s most famous drag brunches, hosted by Tina Burner. While in the city with his partner at the time, he hadn’t planned on attending a drag brunch, but the allure of unlimited mimosas and a lively performance convinced him to go. The experience was a revelation – Tina’s sharp wit and high-energy show had Sky laughing nonstop, unlike anything he had seen before. At the time, Connecticut had no drag brunches, and it was his partner who first suggested that he start one himself. Though Sky wasn’t yet deeply immersed in the world of drag productions, that moment planted the seed for what would become a celebrated live-singing drag brunch.

When Sky Casper launched Pink Eggs & Glam, he was still new to the world of drag, learning as he went. His first major booking came by chance when legendary queen Hedda Lettuce was in Connecticut for a Saturday night show. Seizing the opportunity, Sky asked if she would perform at his brunch the next day. Hedda, a drag icon with over 35 years of experience, agreed, and her hilarious performance helped Pink Eggs & Glam kick off with a wildly successful debut.

Despite having little background in drag at the time, Sky’s instincts and luck paid off. He quickly immersed himself in the scene, traveling to New York to study more shows and connect with top-tier talent. This dedication led to the formation of a powerhouse lineup featuring staples like Sutton Lee Seymour, Paige Turner, Pissi Myles and Bootsie LeFaris, securing Pink Eggs & Glam as a premier live-singing drag brunch. Beloved drag personalities like Jan Sport, Rosé, Loosey LaDuca, and Lagoona Bloo all graced the stage at Pink Eggs & Glam early in their careers, long before rising to fame in the mainstream drag scene.

Later in his career, Sky created and produced Tuck & Strut, a drag competition that became a defining moment for the local drag scene. Running from December 2016 to March 2018, the competition showcased a diverse lineup of performers, including Angel Rivers, Giganta Smalls, Robin Fierce, Harmony The Valkyrie, October May Lay, and many more. Held monthly, each event featured a unique theme, giving contestants the opportunity to push their creativity and hone their craft. The competition culminated in a grand finale, where the top three performers were challenged to produce a 20-minute show. Angela Saxon emerged as the winner, taking home a $500 cash prize before relocating to Tokyo – marking the end of an era for Tuck & Strut.

One of Sky Casper’s proudest achievements was collaborating with The Bushnell to feature his drag queens in a professionally filmed skit displayed on the theater’s massive outdoor screens. The Bushnell, a prestigious performing arts center in Hartford, reached out to Sky a couple of years ago, inviting him to assemble a group of six queens for a four-minute video showcasing their talents. The project was a major milestone, with the final product still playing on the building’s towering digital displays.

Beyond The Bushnell, Sky has also fostered long-term partnerships with events like Pratt Street Pride in Hartford, which books his performers annually for the event, and West Hartford Pride, where he has been a key collaborator for the past five years. His influence has even extended to the Connecticut Science Center Pride as well as Mohegan Sun Pride in The Cabaret Theater, which enlists him to bring drag entertainment to their Pride celebrations. In 2021, Sky achieved another significant milestone when he was recognized as one of Connecticut Magazine’s 40 Under 40 most influential people.

He also began managing international drag star Pangina Heals after she was announced as the co-host of Drag Race Thailand. His journey with her started in 2018 when he invited her to perform at his birthday, which led to his first attempt at organizing a U.S. tour—also marking her debut performances in the country. Over time, he took charge of her English-speaking bookings, helping expand her presence internationally. Pangina first gained global recognition as a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs The World season 1, later returning as a lip-sync assassin on All Stars season 8. Now, she has stepped into the spotlight as the main host of Drag Race Thailand, continuing to make an impact in the drag world with his support behind the scenes.

Sky Casper is pulling out all the stops to celebrate Pink Eggs & Glam‘s 10th anniversary, bringing back fan-favorite performers for two major events. On April 27th, RuPaul’s Drag Race star and Connecticut native Loosey LaDuca – who is no stranger to Pink Eggs & Glam – will return to the brunch at The Social in New London, revisiting one of the venues that helped shape the show’s legacy. Then, on May 18th, the celebration continues with the long-awaited return of Jan, known from RuPaul’s Drag Race, America’s Got Talent, The Voice, and Drag: The Musical! – marking her first appearance at the brunch in six years. Both having performed with Pink Eggs & Glam as rising queens, their returns highlight just how far both they and Sky’s signature event have come.
