The Kitty Kat Ball tour lights up The Webster in Hartford with RuPaul’s Drag Race stars and local favorites

HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT – The top four contestants from season 18 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Juicy Love Dion, Darlene Mitchell, Nini Coco, and winner Myki Meeks, along with the host of the night All Stars 9 winner Angeria Paris VanMichaels and Washington D.C. drag queen Cake Pop behind the DJ deck, have been dazzling audiences across the country as part of the Kitty Kat Ball tour. Produced by Flip Phone Events, the tour has given the top four a chance to showcase their unique drag styles and impressive performance skills. Other season 18 contestants, including Briar Blush and Mia Starr, have also joined the show at select tour stops.

The Kitty Kat Ball made one of its final stops at The Webster in Hartford on June 4. Connecticut drag fans were treated to incredible performances from some of their favorite queens. VIP ticket holders also had the opportunity to attend a meet-and-greet session before the show.

Described as “a gag-worthy evening of lip-syncs, couture, comedy, and drag. It’s glam, it’s camp, and it’s giving nonstop meow-ment after meow-ment!”, the show delivered exactly that. Each queen performed numbers that showcased their unique style, stage presence, and sense of humor.

Hartford’s tour stop also highlighted local talent. ConnecticutDrag.com’s Person of the Year 2024, Ambrosia Black, alongside local drag powerhouse Auntie Lu, were given the opportunity to perform during the show’s second act, while local drag star Rory Roux Lay assisted backstage. Embracing the tour’s feline theme, Auntie Lu performed a mix of “Memory” from Cats and “Purr” by Slayyyter while wearing a leopard-print outfit. Ambrosia Black opted for a medley of songs by Bebe Rexha, showcasing her dance moves in an all-white ensemble.

Myki Meeks is a drag artist from Orlando, Florida, who won season 18 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She won four maxi challenges. During Snatch Game, she impersonated Drew Barrymore and was later invited onto The Drew Barrymore Show. Prior to the show, Myki competed in drag pageants and worked with season 17 runner-up Jewels Sparkles. She describes her drag style as a mix of Old Hollywood and party girl glamour.

Nini Coco is a drag artist from Denver who finished as the runner-up of season 18. She won two challenges on the show and is known for her strong lip-syncing and dance skills, having won three lip-syncs. Her finale performance of her original song “Stimulate” went viral. Nini also has a background in mechanical engineering.

Darlene Mitchell is a drag artist from Los Angeles who finished in third place. She won two maxi challenges and was the only contestant not to land in the bottom two. Darlene describes herself as a bedroom queen and is known for her unique style and sense of humor. She became known for several memes during the season, notably when she asked judge Michelle Visage, “Why you mad?” after Visage questioned her choice of shoes on the runway. She and her partner, Brandon, recently got married.

Juicy Love Dion is a drag artist from Miami who finished in fourth place in season 18. She won two maxi challenges and is known for her strong lip-syncing skills, including winning the She Done Already Had Herses tournament. Juicy is the drag daughter of season 16 and All Stars 11 contestant Morphine Love Dion, the niece of season 16 contestant Plane Jane and fellow season 18 contestant Mia Starr, and the granddaughter of her fellow season 18 contestant Athena Dion. Juicy’s lip-sync against Mia Starr to Zara Larsson’s “Pretty Ugly” in episode 5 went viral.

Angeria Paris VanMichaels is the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 9. She previously competed on season 14, making it to the finale. Across both appearances, she won a total of five maxi challenges. Angeria is known for her strong comedic and lip-syncing skills. Recently, she appeared in the film Stop That Train, alongside RuPaul and other Drag Race alumni. She also served as one of the executive producers on the documentary Cashing Out, which was shortlisted for an Academy Award.
